Eating Disorders

Do you spend a lot of time focused on food or your weight?
Do you turn to food as a way to cope with difficult feelings?
Do you obsess about and criticize your appearance?
Do you restrict food, purge or compulsively exercise?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, you may be dealing with an issue on the disordered-eating continuum.  Suffering from poor body image, dieting, overeating or obsessively counting calories can be exhausting and debilitating. Eating disorders like Bulimia Nervosa, Anorexia Nervosa or Binge Eating Disorder can cause serious emotional and physical consequences and even be life-threatening.

No matter where you are on the continuum, recovery from an eating issue is possible.  Recovery is a journey that requires support and guidance.  I can provide that through assessments, individual, couples and family therapy.  In therapy with me, you will heal self-defeating patterns and address the underlying issues that feed the disordered eating.  At the same time, I provide education and specific tools to help you cope on a daily basis.  Because I believe in a comprehensive treatment approach, I can give you referrals and will collaborate with other providers to best support you in your recovery.

Gina is insightful, compassionate and understanding. She is an outstanding therapist and our work together has allowed me grow and change a lot over the last several years. Her approach helps me understand the root of the issue and offers an action plan at the end of each session that holds me accountable to do the work on my own. I am forever grateful to have found such a wonderful person to help me through my depression and eating disorder.
